Leaves are linear or lance-shaped, alternate, short stalked and hairy at the top and bottom. 
Stem is erect, branched, smooth to hairy, 6 to 7 feet tall.
Flowers are solitary and yellow with 4 parts. Seed pod is hairy and 8 sided with a long vase like bottom.
Roots are fibrous, branching from a taproot.
Propagation is by seed or vegetatively from cuttings.
