Dr. Rishabh Gupta
Assistant Professor, Agricultural and Biological Engineering
Dr. Rishabh Gupta is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Water Management in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the University of Florida/Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences - Everglades Research and Education Center (UF/IFAS - EREC), with 60% research and 40% extension appointments.
His primary research and extension goals are to:
- Advance hydrologic knowledge of agricultural systems—such as irrigation, subsurface drainage, and water table management—using modern technologies, AI, machine learning, and data science.
- Develop and evaluate soil and water management practices that help reduce erosion, control sediment, and reduce the phosphorous transportation by improving Best Management Practices (BMPs).
- Develop research-based practical educational programs to guide farmers with agricultural water management recommendations that helps maximize plant nutrient absorption and improve crop yield.
