Leaves are compound, alternate, and divided into many finely dissected or small narrow leaflets that are thread-like. Leaves and seed heads are on long stalks.
Stem is erect, branched, slender, 6 to 18 inches tall, being taller than wider, and glabrous.

Flowers are tiny bright white born in compound umbels encircled at the base by threadlike bracts. Fruit is two pitted and ribbed.

Root is a deep taproot.

Propagation is by seed.
