Plant Science Symposium
January 22-23, 2024
Jairo Arcos, elected vice president of the Plant Science Council (PSC) for the period 2023–2024 at the University of Florida, coordinated the 8th Annual Plant Science Symposium titled “Planting Seeds of the Future: Unifying Plant Science for Agricultural Resilience,” held on January 22-23, 2024, in Gainesville, FL. The PSC is an organization of undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs studying or interested in plant science research, breeding, and extension. This year's symposium aimed to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, bridging the gap between plant science disciplines and collectively working towards resilience and sustainability by sharing research findings and innovative solutions. The event united students, researchers, and industry professionals for two days of fruitful discussions. This year's edition was sponsored by Corteva Agriscience and gathered more than 460 participants with over 40 poster presentations and international speakers.
