Post Doc Associate
This is a two-year limited time post-doctoral research associate position in the area of soil and water sciences. Annual renewal is contingent upon renewal of grant funds.
1. The incumbent is expected to participate in the design and implementation of research projects that will lead to farm-level water quality improvement for phosphorus and other water quality parameters. The project is located in the Everglades Agricultural Area in south Florida and includes research related to best management practices, phosphorus transformation in soils and sediments and movement off site in drainage water.
2. Prepare, publish and present research findings through reports, referred publications and extension materials.
3. Participate in on-farm training of best management practices including workshops and farm visits.
Job Requirements: Education/Training/Experience: Ph.D. degree in an Agricultural, Environmental Field or Soil and Water Science. Knowledge in sediment sampling and analysis and biogeochemical transformation of phosphorus in wetlands is desirable. A good record of refereed publication is required. Field data collection and laboratory analysis of soil and water samples will be necessary. This may include analyzing samples using flow analyzers, ICP and other instruments.
