EREC Conference Center Fees

On July 9, 2009, we were informed by UF that additional budget cuts had been made. This greatly affects the way the Center operates, particularly with regard to the Conference Center.

Since its completion in 2001, the Conference Center at the Everglades Research and Education Center has accommodated the local agricultural community by serving as a central location for industry meetings and related conferences, at no cost to the users. In order to maintain this facility and to continue to provide a clean, attractive location with state of the art audiovisual capabilities, there will be a nominal charge for the use of this facility, effective immediately. Charges will go toward cleaning, repairs, and maintenance of the audiovisual equipment.

The Conference Center Use Agreement has not changed; use is limited to UF groups, and direct agriculture industry associated groups. User groups will need to complete and submit the Use Agreement form[78KB] prior to use. The user will still be responsible for basic clean‐up and trash removal; failure to do this will result in an additional charge.

 * Meetings and events exceeding a four and a half hour time period will be charged for a full day use; should an event begin prior to 8:00am or finish after 5:00pm, the after hours rate will apply. For example, a meeting scheduled from 2:00pm and lasting until 6:00pm will be charged $250.00; should the meeting continue past the four and a half hour block, the charge would be $500.00. Likewise, if set up time is required before 8:00am, after hours rates will apply.

** AV use after hours will be dependent upon availability of EREC AV Specialist.
